As the head of the Technical Design Department, I led the below initiatives and created the documentation to help train staff and maintain consistency. These documents speak to my level of detail and understanding of garment fit, construction, and pattern making as well as my ability to break down difficult concepts into easy visual learning tools.
The Apparel Fit & Style Guide was created to facilitate design and style conversations between designers and technical designers. It also documents standard fits and measures for a consistent customer experience.

How Soma Fits was created for two reasons. 1) Train internal design and technical staff of proper fit expectations 2) To provide a visual guide to vendors and factories on acceptable fit through the development process.
I made a tour of the Soma factories in China to train the designers, pattern makers, and product managers on Soma fit initiatives. The below file is a power point presentation given to the team back at Soma on our trip.
The below guides were created with the Jr Technical designers to set pattern balancing and manipulation standards.
